The Queen Elizabeth II

The Queen Elizabeth II or Elizabeth II of UK, in English full name of Elizabeth Alexandra Mary Windsor, (London, April 21, 1926) is the current head of state and queen of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, and Queen of Antigua and Barbuda, Australia, Bahamas, Barbados, Belize, Canada, Grenada, Jamaica, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea, St. Kitts and Nevis, Saint Lucia, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Solomon Islands and Tuvalu.
The queen is also head of the British Commonwealth, supreme governor of the Church of England, chief commander of the Armed Forces of the United Kingdom and Lord of Mann, she reigns with such titles since the death of his father, King George VI on February 6, 1952. Today is the Head of State who is in power longest in Europe, the Americas, Africa and Oceania, and the second in the world, surpassed only by King Rama IX of Thailand.
Around 125 million people live in countries where the sovereign of the United Kingdom is the head of state. Only the United Kingdom, his reign passed by the government of eleven different prime ministers. Elizabeth II is married to Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, is the mother of the prince and heir to the British throne, Charles, Prince of Wales.

Life

Elizabeth was born in number 21 Bruton Street in Mayfair, a district of London on April 21, 1926. His father, Prince Albert, Duke of York (later King George VI), the second eldest son of King George V and Queen Mary. His mother was the Duchess of York, then queen-consort Elizabeth, later queen-mother (born Elizabeth Bowes-Lyon), daughter of Lord Claude George Bowes-Lyon, Earl of Strathmore and his wife, the Countess of Strathmore. She received the name of his mother, while her two names are the means of his paternal great-grandmother Queen Alexandra and grandmother Queen Mary, respectively.

As granddaughter of the sovereign, she acquired the condition of Princess of Britain, receiving the treatment of His Royal Highness. It was the Princess Elizabeth of York, when born, third in line succession, behind his father and his uncle, Prince of Wales, later King Eduardo VIII.

Education

The young Princess Elizabeth was educated at home under the supervision of his mother, then the Duchess of York. His governanta was Marion Crawford. He studied history and modern languages. He speaks French fluently, and it demonstrated on several occasions, as in 2004 during his visit to France in commemoration of the Entente Cordiale and the numerous visits to Canada. He was educated in religion by the Archbishop of Canterbury and has always had great belief in the Church of England.

Life as Queen

After the coronation, Elizabeth and Philip were moved to Buckingham Palace in central London region. As its predecessors, it is believed that she hates the Palace as the preferred residence of Windsor Castle, west of London, to be his home. She also spends a few seasons at Balmoral Castle in Scotland.

The Queen Elizabeth is head of state who traveled more in history (even more than Pope John Paul II). [Lacks sources?] In 1953-1954 she and Philip made a round the world in six months, becoming the first reinante the circumnavegar the globe, and also the first to visit Australia, New Zealand and Fiji. In October 1957 it made an official visit to the United States and to Canada in 1959. In 1961 traveled to India and Pakistan for the first time. She has already made official visits to most of the nations of Europe and other continents. She vai regularly to meetings of the British Commonwealth of Nations (Commonwealth).

At the rise of Isabel had many rumours about a "new period elizabetano." The queen has witnessed over the past 50 years, economic development and the gradual transformation of the British Empire to its modern successor, the British Commonwealth. She has worked to maintain links with former colonies, and in some cases, such as South Africa, has acted as a great role in the maintenance and renewal of international relations.

Oddities
  • Elizabeth II is the oldest British monarch of all time. The record belonged to Queen Victoria, who lived 81 years, seven months and 29 days, dying in 1901. A March that its trineta reached on December 20, 2007, at 17.00.
  • It was the first queen to conclude the 60. Anniversary of marriage.
  • It was the first queen to have a Prime Minister born in his reign (Tony Blair).
  • To Win in destronar record of the longest reign, will have to reign until September 9, 2015.

É muito construtivo para mim e super interessante, poder ter um conhecimento a mais do mundo afora, principalmente se tratando de personagens importantes na história do mundo. Conhecer mais sobre a vida da Rainha Elizabeth II, especificamente a sua educação, a sua vida como rainha e mais algumas curiosidades é muito produtivo! =)

É muito bom ter a rainha Isabel II como objeto de estudo, pois podemos perceber além da sua importancia politica e social no comando de varios paises ingleses podemos aprender um pouco mais sobre a vida pessoal da rainha que é tida como forma de orgulho e admiracao para todos que a estudamos.
Isabel vem de uma familia inglesa muito importante, tendo como pai o príncipe Albert, Duque de York e mãe a Duquesa de York.
Isabel tornou-ne herdeira direta do trono com apenas treze anos, quando seu pai se tornou rei, em 1936. Apartir dai e apos atingir maior idade e se casar Isabel pode comandar definitivamente paises igleses e mantem-se ate hoje no poder. Porém sua imagem pública tem amolecido nos últimos anos, pois com seu estado de saúde agravado a rainha não pode intervir de maneira tão intensa, após a morte da Rainha-Mãe tem piorado.
Aos 82 anos, Isabel deixou claro que não pretende abdicar.Aqueles mais próximos a ela dizem que sua intenção é reinar até o dia de sua morte =D
